In this high energy game, participants have to make a circle in an open area and work in pairs in a collaborative way. It is also a competition at the same time because, in each round, a pair will be made redundant and leave the game until we have only one pair left – the winners!
The objective is to perform all teacher’s commands quicker than the other pairs.
Teacher can choose their command randomly and participants have to do it.
The commands are:
• “Bugs on”
• “Bugs down”
• “Bugs under”
• “Bugs switch” and
• “Bugs run”
Para esta brincadeira você vai precisar de:
A group of at least 10 participants in an open area. They have to play in pairs at about the same age and weigh because one participant will have to jump on each other’s back at times.
You need at least 10 participants. Mind you: it has got to be an even number of participants;.
Organise the participants in pairs at about the same age and weigh because they will have to jump on each other’s back at times;
Make a large circle with all the pairs. Each pair has to stick together, one participant standing behind the other;
Teacher explains all the commands: • “Bugs On”: the participants who are behind their partners jump on their partners’ back; • “Bugs Down”: the participants who are on top get off their partners’ back; • “Bugs Under”: the participants who are behind their partners crawl under their partners’ legs, which have to be widely spread; • “Bugs Switch”: the participants in each pair change places; • “Bugs Run” “: the participants who are behind have to run round the whole circle anticlockwise (or clockwise, defined by the teacher) and quickly jump on their partners’ back. The last pair to accomplish this task will be out of the game.
After each Bugs Run command, one pair will leave the game and so on and so forth until there is only one pair left – the winners!
Important: Teacher can choose their commands freely and randomly. Participants have to pay close attention and perform each task as quick as they possibly can. It is suggested that the teacher gives varied commands in order to make the pairs change places often. They do so by following the commands “Bugs Switch” and “Bugs Under”. Hope you have fun! Cheers.
